I joined The Carey Group in 2019 and became a member of the Board in January 2020. Prior to joining I had worked for a variety of leading companies across retail, supply chain logistics and FMCG sectors both public and private FTSE100 and FTSE250 and Euronext listed / global businesses, with experience of companies going through both significant growth and transformations.

I developed my HR career across 13 years at Sainsbury’s, joining them as a graduate after gaining my degree in English and Social Anthropology. I also hold an MA in Human Resource Management and I’m a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD). I have participated in judging at the CIPD and HR Magazine awards and I’m on the advisory group for an HR network, Circal.

As Chief People Officer, my role encompasses defining and delivering the people strategy across the business with my main goal of ensuring the Carey Group is a Great Place to Work, as well as remuneration committee and succession planning remits.

I see my contribution to the Group as providing a legacy for the future - ensuring a clear progression framework for all our people and that they can be their authentic selves at work.

My role involves looking after all things people and culture at Careys - helping our people understand the part they play in delivering for our clients and achieving our bold vision. I am passionate about mentoring and sponsorship in helping people reach their full potential.

Outside of work I enjoy walking and skiing, watching sports, participating in yoga and spending time with my family each year in Portugal. 'HR' is quite the vocation in our family - with my husband and daughter both in HR too, which makes for interesting policy chats sometimes (or not as the case might be!)
